Supporting Access to Justice
Year-End Giving
Many donors choose to make their charitable donations toward the end of the calendar year. Your gift to Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas provides urgently needed civil legal help to those who cannot afford to hire a private attorney. You can make a gift at https://give.lanwt.org/checkout/17252
Gifts From IRAs
If you are 70½ or older, federal law allows direct transfers up to $100,000 per person to charitable organizations from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) without being treated as taxable income. The withdrawal can be counted toward your Required Minimum Distribution.
To direct a transfer, contact your IRA provider and ask about procedures to make a qualified charitable distribution and provide our Tax ID number: 75-0856086. Please ask that the check be payable to Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas and sent to:
Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas
Attention: Development Director
600 E. Weatherford St.
Fort Worth, TX 76102
Please let us know of your generosity by contacting us at 817.539.5380 or by including your name and address with the check. To acknowledge your gift we will need your name and address, amount, and the name of your financial institution.
Because your gift is made directly from your IRA and is not recognized as income on your tax return, you will not receive a charitable income tax deduction. But the gift is free from being taxed.
It is now possible in some circumstances to fund a charitable gift annuity with a qualified charitable gift annuity. Please contact our Gift Planning Director at 817.339.5380 or at [email protected] for more information.
