2023 James B. Sales Boots on the Ground Award
Presented to Victor L. Hunt
In recognition of a life spent serving others through legal aid service, Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas Attorney Victor L. Hunt was honored with the prestigious 2023 James B. Sales Boots on the Ground Award. The award recognizes Victor’s four-decade career providing direct legal representation to low-income clients in Texas and Oklahoma.
During his legal career, Victor worked on a landmark deinstitutionalization case that enabled institutionalized individuals with developmental disabilities to move to homes and establish jobs in the community and helped individuals overcome barriers that reinforce homelessness.
The award is presented to a legal services program attorney or a pro bono attorney who is an exemplary advocate and who gives selflessly of his or her time and talent to provide legal help to those who have no voice.
