Make A Gift From Your IRA Today!

If you are age 70½ or older, gifts directly to a charity from your IRA are considered Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs). Your gifts to Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (up to $100,000 annually) would count toward your required minimum distribution (beginning at age 72), and would not be considered taxable income for you, which effectively reduces your adjusted gross income (AGI).

Contact your IRA administrator to discuss a fund transfer to Legal Aid and/or other charities of your choice well before December 31 to provide adequate time for the administrator to process your request.

For additional information contact John Householter at 817.339.5380, [email protected], or speak with your tax advisor.
Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, Inc. is funded in part by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC). As a condition of the funding it receives from LSC, Legal Aid is restricted in certain activities in all of its legal work—including work supported by other funding sources. Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas Inc. may not expend any funds for any activity prohibited by the regulations governing the Legal Services Corporation. Legal Aid is required by 45 CFR Part 1610 to provide notice of these restrictions to all funders and contributors to organizations funded by the Legal Service Corporation.
