Tarrant Bar Foundation Honors Byrolyn Daniels
Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas is proud to celebrate Byrolyn Daniels, who was recently honored by the Tarrant County Bar Foundation, receiving the Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans Paralegal Volunteer of the Year Award.
"Your willingness to step in and help, along with your kind and approachable way of working with volunteers, law students, and veterans, makes such a difference. We were honored to give you this award..."
Byrolyn’s dedication reflects the heart of Legal Aid’s mission and the impact our team makes every day.
Byrolyn has served as a Paralegal and Equal Justice Volunteer Program (EJVP) Coordinator in the Fort Worth office since June 2023. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, she has deep roots in Fort Worth, where she attended FWISD schools and graduated Magna Cum Laude from R.L. Paschal High School.
Her passion for law and community service began early and continued through her academic journey. She earned an associate’s degree in Business Administration (legal focus) from Tarrant County College, a bachelor’s degree in political science/pre-law from the University of Texas at Arlington, and an advanced paralegal diploma from Penn Foster.
Byrolyn’s career reflects a steady progression in both legal and public service roles. She began her legal journey as an intern with Karger, Key, Barnes & Springer, LLP, gaining early exposure to employment law. She then spent seven years with the Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth as a Deputy Clerk II and Legal Secretary, where she built a strong foundation in court operations and case management.
She expanded her leadership and administrative experience during her seven-plus years with Fort Worth ISD, supporting campus operations and financial management as an administrative assistant and financial secretary. Her career then advanced into municipal government, where she was promoted within the City of Fort Worth Municipal Court to courtroom clerk, serving under Judge Raquel Brown and playing a key role in courtroom coordination.
Building on that experience, Byrolyn moved into a leadership role with the City of Kennedale as court administrator and juvenile case manager, overseeing court functions and working directly with youth and families navigating the legal system. She later brought her organizational and program management skills to Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business, supporting graduate programs and consulting initiatives.
Coming from a proud military family, Byrolyn is deeply committed to supporting veterans and their families. This passion is reflected in her work with the EJVP and her involvement with Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans. She regularly assists with the monthly legal clinic at the Fort Worth VA Clinic, helping coordinate services and ensure veterans receive the legal support they need.
In recognition of her service, Byrolyn was named the 2025 TLTV Paralegal of the Year.
After several years of pursuing an opportunity to serve in legal aid, Byrolyn joined Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas in 2023—a moment she describes simply: she is now home.
